Brian Toung is a Daytona Beach attorney who focuses on criminal defense, personal injury, business law, aviation law, and real estate in central Florida. Mr. Toung received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Auburn University in 1980 and his Juris Doctorate from Florida State University College of Law in 1983. Brian graduated college and law school with honors, and he attended law school for a term at Oxford University in England. During law school, Brian was elected President of the Student Bar Association at Florida State. He also worked as a legislative intern in the Florida House of Representatives in 1981 and 1982.
After graduating law school, Brian practiced with a number of attorneys before striking out on his own in 1998. Brian now has a thriving practice in an office that is within walking distance of the local courthouse. He was admitted to practice in Florida in 1983, and in 1984 he was admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. In 1985, Brian was admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and he was Board Certified as a Civil Trial Lawyer by The Florida Bar in 1988. In 1989, Brian was Board Certified as a Civil Trial Lawyer by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and he also has been Board Certified as a Mediator by The Florida Bar. In 1996, Brian served on the James Publishing's Editorial Advisory Board for the publication Florida Civil Procedure Before Trial.
Brian has taught business law as an adjunct professor at the University of Central Florida, and he has lectured young students on juvenile law. He has served as a Member of the Tourism and Economic Development Committee for the Florida House of Representatives. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Volusia County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, and the Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce. Brian is proud to be associated with the Phi Delta Phi fraternity and the Delta Sigma Pi sorority. In his spare time, Brian enjoys flying planes, playing golf and tennis and water sports, cooking gourmet food, and traveling. He is married and has three children.
